What Strength Mine?

I have the power to define my dreams
to create reality from what merely seems
the ability to do what I only thought
the strength to make real what was nought
to judge myself with joy and worth
to be glad of all my life brings forth
to have the fervour to smile and laugh
and embrace the world with all my heart.

I see, I smell, I touch and taste,
and perceive there is no time to waste.
I live for now, accept the past
and aim to make tomorrow last.

Dreams and thoughts and wants unfold.
As deeds performed, not done, untold,
give the capacity to continue on
until this life on earth is done.
