Buahrangers Revetment: Poety and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. Pahl and friends

I know not from whence I came
God’s love will help to ease the pain.
The pain.
The pain.
Oh my God, the pain!
But He knows all that I have gained.

I know not where I am today
God’s help is for what I dearly pray
The strain.
The strain.
Oh my God, the strain!
But He will help to ease the pain.

I know not where I’ll be tomorrow
God’s help will see an end to sorrow.
The questions.
The questions.
Oh my God, the questions!
But He will teach me all life’s lessons.

Enigmatic?
He may be.
And sometimes He’s so hard to see.
My senses rebel at all I feel
until I stop - make sure I’m real.
When I then,
and only then
feel His strength subside my pain,
I continue striving so I might gain.

Flashes of instinct to me He sends
to guide me to a needy hand.
With the words of peace he gives for free
I strive to comfort,
as He comforts me

I may never view the goal I seek;
where I am or why I’ve been.
But My Lord above has plans for me.
All he wants
is for me to be.

I know, I know
He told me so.
