Buahrangers Revetment: Poety and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. Pahl and friends

“Remembrance is a soft song sung by knowing voices”
Anthony W. Pahl

Nights filled with tears
where floundering found
loneliness and fears
amid war’s terrible sound.

Feeling the pelting rain
seeking no shelter known
shrapnel searing in pain
open wounds bloody shown.

Whispered orders passed
caring for the wounded
emotions herding massed
small cries soft abounded.

Mother’s lullaby’s to sing
where dying soldiers cry
passing bullets oft sting
giving comfort we try.

Remembrance now lost
others with new wars face
still unknown such cost
in histories future to trace.
