Buahrangers Revetment: Poety and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. Pahl and friends

To be though of as a liar
Is hard enough to take from a foe
But to have a friend think such is to the heart a dagger
It fills one’s sole with feelings of woe.

Explanations of one’s self is useless to a foe
But without reason a friend can hurt to the quick
My only reason for this short verse is to make it not so
Forgiveness my friend is the trick.

So I will not continue to add to this verse
My feelings for friends cause me to stop
For to continue would hurt even worse.
There should be a place for this to drop.

I shall continue to count all the blessings that are my friends
A mere disagreement can never change the friendship of each
There should be no reason to make amends
And across the waters my out stretched hand does reach.
