Buahrangers Revetment: Poety and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. Pahl and friends

Lebanon NH - Bushranger's Revetment - Poetry and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. (Bushranger) Pahl and friends

In Lebanon, New Hampshire,
we stopped a spell
to view the city square.
A granite stone and US flag
stood reverentially there.
A brass moulding set into the stone
recorded rows and rows of names,
eternal columns of World War dead
reflecting honour but never fame.

Standing with hand upon my heart,
feeling the tears that stone had bled…
This town had given the world her youth
so that freedom could be shared.
I stood in awe and sadness
thinking of those who'd died
and pictured the memorial in my hometown
ten thousand miles away…

… and cried.
