Before you go on alone
… Leave a scrap of paper written
with your words
worthy to be graven in stone
for some to see
and… so to remember thee

Words gentle… yet strong
telling of wars and brothers
soldiers all… right or wrong
Of brothers that fell
under the guns of Hell
that all will remember long

When you are eons dead
be it quoted again things you said
in your rhymes of brotherhood
… handing the keys for future good
and so may you be remembered
… and loved and understood
