Dear Tony,
Your excellent poem, “STAND TOO” was recently nominated to receive the International War Veterans’ Poetry Archives (IWVPA) “Double Tap Award for War Poetry”.
This award is not awarded randomly, nor can it be applied for. A recommendation by a member of the IWVPA is made and only then can the award be considered.
I have the honour to advise that “Stand Too” has been awarded the “Double Tap Award for War Poetry”. Your poem captures the frightening experience soldiers serving in combat feel while standing too, with the ever present likelihood of the sudden horror of an enemy attack.
Accordingly, I attach the “Double Tap” award graphic and request that it be added to the page on your web site that displays your poem. I am also proud to advise that I have informed the IWVPA Webmaster of your award, and he will attach the graphic to the page which displays your poem on the IWVPA Website. Your name will also be added to the Honour Roll of the winners of the “Double Tap Award for War Poetry”.
I also convey to you the congratulations of all the IWVPA Club members.
May your God bless you and your endeavours.
Colin F Jones,
IWVPA Award Master
