Buahrangers Revetment: Poety and Stories by Vietnam Veteran, Anthony W. Pahl and friends

Red ochre sunset sneaks a peek over my left shoulder
Harsh rocky outlines fade into shadows fading into night
Glimmering falls of quicksilver purl over the shadows
And become the sights and sounds of the night.

Streaking… on the blackness of space
momentarily attracting the eye,
a star dies… before it is seen
I am of the universe and a witness to its life,
and death…

Liquid souls pulse through the living night.
Quietly diffused by the heart of creation,
a gentle wisp of clarity…
A reminder of today
and a promise of tomorrow

Internal universe sated, I sleep…
